“Down below, in the deep, dark depths of Huntington Beach California, we make the Flying Dutchman’s handplanes. We use old, forgotten, discarded, worn out, or broken skate boards. They were once destined for a cruel death, buried in a lonely land fill but now resurrected to bodysurf the seven seas. From the land to the sea!
Just a short project about getting out there & making things with what ever stuff you got laying around. Things don’t have to always be perfect, super high tech, or expensive. What’s important is the process, the discovery & journey of it all… Don’t be afraid to create!”
I just couldn’t of put that any better. One of my previous coworkers, Josh Huffman, was taking snapped, crackled, or popped skateboards and upcycling them into body surfing handplanes. I couldn’t resist a collaboration, so I filmed/edited the process of my own handplane, while providing a marketing tool for The Flying Dutchmans.
